Barbara Haščáková
Barbara was born on December, 11th 1979 in the Slovak Republic formerly known as Czechoslovakia. At a very young age she became interested in music and showed exceptional musical talent. Barbara was a natural. She started performing at the age of six by dancing,playing the piano and singing at different contests. She then entered the music industry at the age of fourteen. Her artist name is "BARBARA". Her crystal voice is unforgettable. She has recorded and released 12 albums in total. 2 solos, 3 duos, 1 with a band and 6 with various artists. The first album "I FEEL GOOD" was released in 1994. It was a tremendous success in central Europe and she was subsequently awarded a PLATINUM RECORD. The hit song "DO IT" became number 1 in Europe. The following year Barbara signed on with POLYGRAM RECORDS of the Czech Republic under the name "MC ERIC & BARBARA". Barbara and Erik released 3 duo albums, "YOU CAN'T STOP", "SECOND", and "GOLD" which were sold throughout Europe and Japan. She then signed on with UNIVERSAL RECORDS SLOVAKIA. It was at this time during her professional singing career that she introduced her own creativity as a composer, songwriter, singer, and musician as a Pop-Rock artist. | Barbara recorded her first solo album at the age of 17. Her album "BARBARA" was awarded a GOLD RECORD. Barbara, as a soloist and as a duo with (MC Eric) performed many successful concerts throughout Europe. In 1999 she was invited to POLANDS INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL and won that singing contest's main prize, the "GRAND PRIX" award. She has taped over twenty music video clips and recorded the soundtrack for the movie "FOUNTAIN FOR SUZANNE" and the main part for the musical "MARY STUART". She also recorded various Christmas and special children's songs. Barbara has received awards and prizes too numerous to mention as the most popular singer in Slovakia. In 1999, she finished her second solo album "VER, ZE JA" thus satisfying her contract with UNIVERSAL.She performed professionally in Europe for six years and then moved to America at the age of twenty. Since coming to the USA, Barbara has released two albums ("Secrets Of Happiness" and "Christmas Album") and "Me & My Music" in Slovakia (2006). |
